  IED Jammer Criticality

Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are one of the most significant threats to military and counter-terrorism operations worldwide. signal jammer IEDs are often simple to manufacture, but their destructive power cannot be underestimated. Since they are usually detonated using radio signals, RF jammers, such as the AN/GLM-11, are an important means of preventing them from detonating. These jammers are designed to cut off the connection between the IED and its control signals, thereby preventing the explosion. As the core of this jammer, the main function of AN/GLM-11 is to ensure that these devices can operate effectively when used in actual use, preventing combatants or other targets from being threatened by IEDs.

  Development and application of AN/GLM-11

This order is the second round of selections provided by Textron for AN/GLM-11. Two years ago, Textron won a $27.3 million contract to produce version 1 and version 2 of AN/GLM-11. AN/GLM-11 is a portable, programmable, ruggedized RF test system designed to provide verification services for IED jamming equipment. Its portability and versatility allow the system to be used in a variety of harsh environmental conditions, ensuring that the military can conduct field tests on jammers at any time in an emergency.

The core function of AN/GLM-11 is to execute pre-programmed test sequences, simulate possible threats, and measure the response of the jammer. These measurements are completed by building transmitter, measurement and sequence applications, providing operators with fast and accurate results. The device's display automatically generates pass/fail test results, and advanced users can call up a detailed spectrum display to further analyze the jammer's performance.
